Mother's Day 2026. Most people sent flowers.

250+ builders in Vancouver spent it making their moms and family proud by building projects for AI agents with CLōD at the Cursor Hackathon Vancouver 2026.

More than 30 project teams across age groups and career stages plugged into one API, accessed multiple frontier and open-source models, and shipped real products in a day, with CLōD being a critical part of every project in the room.

What Made It Work

Affordable inference and smart routing meant teams could focus on building instead of worrying about token costs, rate limits, or model lock-in.

From AI therapists for AI agents, to dating apps for bots, to a population of AI citizens that debate and respond to policy changes in real time, to autonomous agent pipelines that ship GitHub PRs with zero human involvement, to a tool that turns your meeting into shipped work before you walk out the door. The range was unreal.

The Winners

Congrats to Team Sidekik (Mark Skrypnyk, Linh Hoang, Omar Abu Sharar, Matteo Sotelo) for taking home the $500 "Best Use of CLōD" prize.

Sidekik listens to meetings and dispatches AI agents to send emails, build Trello boards, and spin up GitHub repos as decisions happen. Every few seconds, CLōD routes the live transcript through a fast classifier to detect actions, then a stronger model to draft and confirm them. All through one API.

What Comes Next

Some of these projects were so well thought out that we don't want them to end at the hackathon. We're continuing to support standout builders with credits and engineering guidance to ship their ideas further, and we'll be featuring their stories and working demos in upcoming posts.
